Tail of Success

Butch (Shelter Name: Rusty)--Adopted April 2008

sampleDear Humane Society,
Just thought I would give you an update on my new family.    I am having the time of my life.    We do SO much each day that I am asleep by 8:30 and I get asked if I am getting up to go with or stay home that day!    I did not realize that farming takes so much energy.

Last Thursday when we got home I met Belle (my 4 legged sister-she’s the black dog in the photos), we had a little stand-off, but finally we decided that I would be the little brother and she would be the big sister.    Sometimes she exercises her right as a big sister and puts me in my place.    (As you remember sometimes I forget how big I am).    I also met my new Nana and Papa.    They think I am great.    This is where I have been spending most of my time, as Mom farms with Papa.

Friday was great too.    Mom sells seed, so we spent the rainy day in the machine shed sorting seed.    Belle and I got to go outside and play when it was not raining.    Boy does it feel good to stretch my long legs and RUN.    Although I don’t ever get too far away, I keep Mom or Papa in my sights at all times.

On Sunday, Mom, her sister Laurie, Allyson, Cole, Belle and I went on the March of Dimes walk around the lake in Albert Lea.    I would have slept a little longer had I known it was 6 miles.    But it was great, as everyone thought I was the most beautiful dog they had ever seen.    We stopped and had water out of a collapsible bowl Mom brought with for us.    Then we went back to Nana’s, took a little nap and did some yard work.

I can’t believe how my life has changed!    Thank you so much for all you did and thank you for letting me go home with this family (Mom said she feels the same).    I still need to work on my size issue, but I am getting better.    I am working on sitting and laying down.    Stay is a little harder, but I am trying.    Mom says it’s a good thing I am cute or I would not get away with as much.

Thanks again,

Butch (aka Rusty)
