Today is National Lazy Day! Lazy Bones Snoopy loves to visit the front desk and snooze in our office bed. This sleeping beauty is looking for a quiet home that can help him gain some confidence in the outside world. When not sleeping Snoopy is best known for collecting kennelers at his bedside. Due to a temporary staffing shortage, we will be CLOSED to the public on Wednesday, August 10th.We will have enough staff in the building to feed and provide care to the animals in the building, but not enough to help volunteers and visitors. We are sorry for the inconvenience and are planning to resume our regular hours* on Thursday, August 11th. Please check back here for updates.
*Regular hours: Tuesday-Friday (noon to 4:00) and Saturday (10:00-2:00)

These awesome kids recently held a lemonade stand in their hometown. Together they were able to raise $257!!! This is amazing and we love that they chose us to receive their donation. Keep up the great work Ellie, Kenli, Caleb, Joella, and Clair!
We've got LOTS of dogs in the shelter right now and we are running dangerously low on dog food! :(Can you help us out? There are several ways you can donate:
-Click the "Donate" button on this post and allow us to go purchase the dog food we need. A donation in ANY amount helps!!
-Go purchase a bag (or more) of dog food and drop it off at the shelter (we are open Tues-Fri (noon to 4) and Sat (10-2))
-Make a purchase online from Chewy, Amazon, Petco, etc... and have it shipped to us (our address is: Humane Society of North Iowa, 2700 South Birch Drive, Mason City IA 50401
We prefer Purina brand or better (Iams, Science Diet, etc..) No generics please.
