Look who we got a visit from over the weekend? WINNIE AND ANGUS!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤If you recall, Winnie waited in our shelter for more than 3 years to find her forever home. She was shy and needed someone to invest some time with her in order for her to come out of her shell. That someone ended up being Peyton, a young man from over an hour away who came EVERY SINGLE WEEKEND for months to see Winnie! She absolutely grew to love and trust him and he adopted her. A few months later, his parents were also looking to adopt a dog, so Peyton brought them to the Humane Society of North where they met and fell in love with Angus! The great thing is that Winnie and Angus were pals in the shelter and now, they were adopted by Peyton and his parents who live just blocks away from another, so Winnie and Angus get to hang out all the time! <3 Saturday was the anniversary of when Peyton adopted Winnie. To celebrate, he and his mom came over with 2 cartloads of supplies for the shelter! WOW!!!! All great stuff that we are very much in need of!It was also beyond wonderful to see Winnie and Angus thriving and living their BEST lives in their new homes. :)We will always be so grateful to Peyton, who took the time Winnie needed to let her guard down and trust someone new. And to his parents who giving such an amazing home to Angus!! We love happy endings!!!
Boris is a friendly husky who loves meeting people and spreading good vibes wherever he goes. He came to the shelter as a stray, and while his past is a bit of a mystery, his sweet and social nature shines through. Boris is ready for a fresh start with a family who can give him the love and care he deserves.
It's National Scarf Day! Sugarbee is thrilled to wear her special scarf, which keeps her warm on this crisp fall morning. The soft, plush fabric feels amazing against her fur. Fall is her favorite season, filled with exciting adventures, cozy nights by the fire, and endless opportunities to play in the leaves. She loves how the season brings everyone together, and she can't wait to share it with her friends and family. She just needs a family to enjoy the fall weather with.

TAILS OF SUCCESS: Here's an update from Archie (formerly Mio).... Archie has chosen under the far side of the bed near the wall for his save zone. While 0n the computer I felt something bumping my shins. It was Archie rubbing against them. This was about midnight. I slid my chair back reaching down and petting him. When I stopped, he would give a little squeak until I started petting him. I finally leaned back in the chair and asked him if he wanted to come up. He jumped into my lap. I petted him and after a short period of time then he would jump down and go exploring. Just as I started on the computer again or leaned back and closed my eyes, he would be back in my lap asking to be petted. This repeated several times each getting longer. Finally, I got up and got the brush. This boy absolutely loves being brushed. The first session last 45 minutes. One of the pictures show all the fur that came off in the first 45-minute session. He went and got something to eat, and some water then came back for another 45 minutes. He has been laying on the couch or kitchen floor watching. As soon as I make eye contact he is back in my lap.
