TAILS OF SUCCESS: Here's an update from Winne....Dear Family at Humane Society of North Iowa:
I miss all my friends at the Humane Society.
I love my new home with my new dad, Peyton. I like to steal shoes. I don’t chew on them, just put them somewhere other than where they were. I have a dog runner cable that runs the length of the backyard that I love to be on and see who comes down the alley. My Grandma Lynnette and Grandpa Mike are great. I am still trying to make friends with Stevie, the cat. I like to be a couch potato and if I’m not doing that, I like to wrestle with dad, grandma and grandpa.
Thank you for taking care of me for as long as you did. It brought me to where I need to be – with Peyton.

TAILS OF SUCCESS: Here's an update from Luna (formerly Iceland)...We decided to change her name to Luna since she didn’t seem quite used to Iceland anyways. We had an hour- hour and a half drive home and she did so great and settled right into her new home.
DOG KENNELS CLOSED TEMPORARILY DUE TO ILLNESS (as of 10/6)We've got a respiratory illness going around the shelter and a few of the dogs are not feeling well. :( The illness is definitely treatable with antibiotics, but we want to stop the spread as quickly as possible so that no one else gets sick!
With that in mind, and under the advisement of our veterinarian, we are temporarily closing the dog kennels to the public.
We are taking every precaution to make sure our shelter dogs are receiving the best possible care from our attentive kennel staff and will keep everyone posted when the kennels are back open.
In the meantime....we have almost 100 CATS who would LOVE some attention! We have plenty of space and rooms for volunteers who would like to spend time with kitties! Come visit during our open hours: Tues-Fri (10-4) and Sat (10-2)
Someone put a spell on poor Hex. The only thing that will break the spell is for a wonderful family to adopt him. Will that be you?Petfinder.com
