Here's an update from sweet Winnie, who was adopted from us 6 years ago. You may recall her story....
For unknown reasons, Winnie's previous owner put her inside a duffel bag and threw her off a bridge into the Winnebago River below. 😲😲😲 Fortunately, some bystanders witnessed this and were curious about what was in the bag. They were able fish the bag out of the water, unzipped it and found a wet and scared kitty!! She was brought to the Humane Society of North Iowa (we named her Winnie) and received immediate veterinarian care. Shockingly, she suffered no physical damage, but we could tell she was emotionally upset and sad to be in the shelter.
We shared her story in the hopes of finding her a new home and a short time later, a wonderful man named Ken came to visit Winnie and the connection was instant! He adopted her and now, 6 years later, has sent us these photos showing us how well Winnie is doing in his care. <3 <3 <3
We're so happy for Winnie and so grateful to Ken for giving her such a wonderful new life! ...3 days ago
These 3 cool kitties have been in our care for over a year! That makes them cabin fever cats! Their adoption fee has been reduced to just $50.00 to help them find their home.
Rigby is a super playful boy. He loves all the toys- crinkles, balls, wands, and feathers- He does not discriminate. Rigby would really love a home to call his own, where he can run and play to his heart’s desire. Rigby is selective with other cats (likes a laid back cat). He would do best in a home with older children.
Marnie:My name is Marnie and with me, you get the best of both worlds. I’m well out of the kitten phase, but I can still be playful. I’m very affectionate and love to love and be loved. I had a litter of kittens shortly after arriving at the shelter, and because of my age, it was probably not my first. I would really like my turn to be someone’s baby, and would prefer to be the only pet in your home. I’m ready to be spoiled by my forever family
Sushi: A unique name for a unique kitty! I’m a very friendly and playful guy. I love toys of all kinds- bells, balls, wands, and feathers. I enjoy hanging out with my kitty room mates but I’d love to settle in someplace more permanent. I’ve done well with other kitties in the past and would be a great addition to a multi-cat household

Meet Mystery!
I’m an intriguing lady, and it’s fitting that my name is Mystery. Shortly after I arrived at the shelter, I had four babies and I was a really great mom. Through my babies, I was able to see that humans were not so scary and that being friends with them is actually pretty nice. I can sometimes play hard-to-get but am very affectionate when I get to know you. I love to play and climb, so I hope my forever home has a tall cat tree with maybe a window I can look out of. I have tested positive for FIV and need to be the only kitty in the home. FIV+ cats can live very normal and healthy lives, and you can ask shelter staff if you’d like more information.

Sometimes looks can be deceiving. At first glance I look like a big tom cat, but inside I’m a big softy. You may expect a raspy greeting to come out of a guy like me, but I have a very soft meow. My name is Dell, and I enjoy curling up in a warm spot, including a lap, and sometimes will stretch out on your chest and give you some kisses on your nose. I am not a fan of dogs and would not like to live with them, but I may tolerate other cats.
