Cedar is a young Lab mix with a gentle heart and a quiet spirit. He was found as a stray alongside his friend Clover, who has already found her forever home—now it’s Cedar’s turn to find a family of his own.

Cedar is a very good boy, but he’s extremely shy and still learning that the world isn’t such a scary place. New experiences can feel overwhelming for him, even simple things like doorways, so he’ll need a patient and understanding adopter who can help him build confidence at his own pace.

With time, kindness, and reassurance, Cedar has so much potential to blossom. He’s the kind of dog who may take a little while to come out of his shell, but once he does, the bond you’ll build will be incredibly special. If you’re willing to invest in a “diamond in the ruff,” Cedar just might be your perfect match.

Adoption fee covers the following veterinarian services: spay/neuter surgery, age appropriate vaccinations, flea and dewormer treatment, feline leukemia/FIV test in cats, heartworm test for dogs.

Animals listed with the Mason City Stray Animal Shelter will be held for 7 days from the “Entry Date” to give the opportunity for an owner to reclaim them.  If not reclaimed, the animal will be made available for adoption to the public.
